Capitol Arts Camp Junior Assistant: August 10-14
Are you passionate about the arts and want to get involved with the Capitol Theatre? Join the Capitol Arts Camp Team as a Junior Assistant! Gain valuable experience, fulfill volunteer hours, connect with theatre industry professionals and receive a certificate of completion.
Ideal candidate will be
- Motivated and excited to learn new skills
- Organized and a self-starter
- Have a passion for theatre (theatre experience is a bonus, but not a requirement)
- Comfortable working with kids ages 7-11
Eligibility
- Must be 13-year-old (or will be turning 13 by the end of the 2026 calendar year).
- Must be available for the full Volunteer Period as outlined below. Some exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
Applications
- Applications open until July 3rd, 2026
- Complete the APPLICATION FORM (you will be asked to include a cover letter and resume)
- Sucessful applicants will be contacted by email.
Dates & Times
- 4 hours of training to be scheduled between August 3rd-9th (based on availability)
- 38 working hours (August 10- August 13, 9am-4pm and Friday August 14, 9am-7pm)
Location: The Capitol Theatre, 121 University Ave W., Windsor ON.
Role Description
Capitol Arts Camp Junior Assistants are responsible for supporting camp operations, including:
- Providing additional supervision for campers during breaks
- Supporting campers through a variety of activities
- Collaborating with the Capitol Theatre/Windsor Symphony Orchestra staff to enhance the experience of the campers.
Responsibilities
- Material preparation + daily set up
- Greeting campers each morning and making everyone feel welcome
- Providing extra guidance and support for the campers through a variety of group activities (crafts, games, dancing, acting)
- Supporting the mission of the Capitol Arts Camp: to encourage campers to explore a variety of artistic disciplines in a supportive and educational environment.
