Student Tech Week at the Capitol Theatre

Summer Intensive – Student Tech Week, is a five-day, in-theatre training program for Grade 9–12 students with prior technical experience that offers hands-on instruction within a professional theatre environment. Lessons will include lighting, audio, projection, crew work, and stage management. The program builds on the technical skills developed in school theatre tech programs with a focus on advancing current familiarity with equipment and gaining experience in the backstage world. 


  • Monday, August 17, 2026 – Saturday, August 21, 2026
  • Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (bring your own lunch)
  • Location: 121 University Ave W (Capitol Theatre Windsor)
  • Fee: $250 + tax

 

 

  • Ages: Students entering Grade 9-entering Grade 12 in September 2026
  • Pre-requisites: Must work on a high school student tech team and have basic familiarity with set up for school assemblies and productions. 
  • Behind-the-Scenes Theatre Tour
  • Theatre Lighting
  • Audio Set Up
  • Projection
  • Crew 101
  • Stage Management
  • Get Hands-on Experience in a Professional Environment
  • Earn a Certificate of Completion (Level 1 Student Tech) 
  • Have the opportunity to run a show (Capitol Arts Camp Showcase) in a large theatre
  • Gain eligibility to apply for co-op and internships at the Capitol Theatre
