The Capitol Theatre houses three theatres – The Pentastar, The Kelly Theatre, and The Joy Theatre, each with their own unique accessibility features. Please see website listing or ticket to confirm the location of the event that you will be attending.
Wheelchair spaces are accessible in all three theatres. The Capitol Theatre main entry (University Ave) is located at ground level and is equipped with ramps and inclined floors.
The Pentastar Theatre can accommodate standard-sized manual and electric wheelchairs on the main floor (in the back of the center section, the left and right side of the theatre). These spaces are limited, please contact box office to inquire availability.
Please note that as a Heritage space that has limited modernizations, tilt and recliner wheelchairs can only be accommodated at the back of the main floor of the theatre (under an overhang).
Please note: Balcony seating in Pentastar is only accessible using stairs.
Support Person Tickets: Support Person Tickets may be requested at the point of purchase (at a discounted rate). Support persons may be seated in fixed theatre seats or portable seating depending on availability.
Transitional Seating: Theatre seats with detachable armrests are available on select aisle seats in the Pentastar and Kelly Theatres for patrons who wish to move from a wheelchair into a theatre seat. Subject to availability.
Washroom: An accessible washroom is located in the lobby area near the Joy Theatre. Please ask an usher or staff for directions.
Theatre Wheelchairs: The Capitol Theatre has a manual wheelchair available to assist from the lobby entrance to your seat. Please notify an usher upon arrival to request a wheelchair.
Walkers: The Capitol Theatre ushers will be happy to assist you with removing your walker from seat, storing it in a designated area, and returning after your event.
Mobility Scooters: The Capitol Theatre Windsor is unable to accommodate motorized scooters into any of the three theatres. Scooters can be parked in a designated spot in the lobby after entering and guests can transfer, with assistance, if necessary, to one of the theatre’s manual wheelchairs prior to entering the event.
Support Animals: Any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to aid an individual with a disability can accompany a ticket holder. Please notify the Box Office at the point of purchase so that your seat can be selected to ensure adequate space for your support animal.
