The Capitol Theatre houses three theatres – The Pentastar (622 Fixed Theatre Seating), The Kelly Theatre (206 Fixed Theatre Seating), and The Joy Theatre (100 Flexible Banquet Seating). Please see website listing or ticket to confirm the event location.
Mobility Aids and Accessible Seating:
Wheelchair spaces are accessible in all three theatres, via the main entrance at street level (University Ave.) The Capitol Theatre is equipped with ramps and inclined floor.
Pentastar Theatre:
The Pentastar Theatre can accommodate standard-sized manual and electric wheelchairs on the main floor (in the back of the center section and back of the left and right side of the theatre). Subject to availability.
As a Heritage space that has limited modernizations, tilt and recliner wheelchairs can only be accommodated at the back of the main floor of the theatre (under an overhang).
Specifying the type of wheelchair you use will help us to identify the best area to accommodate you.
Please note: Balcony seating in Pentastar is only accessible using stairs.
Kelly Theatre:
The Kelly Theatre can accommodate standard-sized manual and electric wheelchairs on the main floor (in the back of the right side of the theatre). Subject to availability.
As a Heritage space that has limited modernizations, tilt and recliner wheelchairs can only be accommodated at the back of the main floor of the theatre (under an overhang).
Specifying the type of wheelchair you use will help us to identify the best area to accommodate you.
All Theatres:
When needed, Support Person Tickets can be requested at the point of purchase (at a discounted rate). Support persons may be seated in fixed theatre seats or portable seating depending on availability.
Transitional Seating – Theatre seats with detachable armrests are available on select aisle seats in the Pentastar and Kelly Theatres for patrons who wish to move from a wheelchair into a theatre seat. Subject to availability.
Theatre Wheelchairs – The Capitol Theatre has a manual wheelchair available to assist from the lobby entrance to your seat. Available upon request.
Walkers – The Capitol Theatre ushers will be happy to assist you with removing your walker from seat, storing it in a designated area, and returning after your event.
Mobility Scooters –The Capitol Theatre Windsor is unable to accommodate motorized scooters into any of the three theatres. Scooters can be parked in a designated spot in the lobby after entering and guests can transfer, with assistance if necessary, to one of the theatre’s manual wheelchairs prior to entering the event.
Washroom: one barrier free washroom is located in the lobby area near the Joy Theatre. Please ask an usher or staff for directions.
Support Animals:
Any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to aid an individual with a disability can accompany a ticket holder. Please notify the Box Office at the point of purchase so that your seat can be selected to ensure adequate space for your support animal.
