Time: 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Like many in his day, Johannes Brahms felt the shadow of Beethoven’s legendary 9th Symphony. It took Brahms 19 years of composing and re-composing before he felt ready to present his Symphony No. 1. As you will hear, it was well worth the wait. Filled with drama and beautiful melodies, this symphony is a masterpiece of the 19th century. Concertmaster Lillian Scheirich and Principal viola, Roman Kosarev take centre stage performing Mozart’s effervescent Sinfonia Concertante.
