Buy TicketsChains to Changes is the Black Kids in Action Performing Art Group’s 7th annual Black History Month stage production, presented in February 2026. This powerful, multi-disciplinary performance explores the journey of Black people from oppression to empowerment, highlighting how resistance, knowledge, culture, and community transform “chains” into catalysts for change.
Through drama, music, dance, spoken word, and storytelling, the production connects past, present, and future. It honors Black heroes and changemakers who challenged injustice, reclaimed identity, and opened doors for generations to come, while centering the voices, talents, and perspectives of today’s youth.
The production follows intergenerational storytelling, where elders pass down history, lessons, and resilience to young people, guiding them to question dominant narratives, confront misrepresentation, and recognize their own power and responsibility. Themes of identity, mental emancipation, unity, leadership, and hope are woven throughout the performance, showing that freedom begins in the mind and is sustained through action.
Performed by a diverse cast of children and youth ages 8 to 21, Chains to Changes is both educational and inspiring. It challenges harmful stereotypes, celebrates Black excellence, and affirms that Black history is not confined to the past but is actively being shaped by the next generation.
More than a performance, Chains to Changes is a call to awareness, pride, and purpose encouraging audiences to reflect on where we have come from, recognize how far we have come, and commit to building a future rooted in truth, dignity, and collective strength.
Early Bird ends January 31, 2026 $30 after is $45.
