Explore the arts at the Capitol Theatre this March break! Come for one day or join us for the full week to try a variety of art forms!

Daily Schedule: Monday March 16th– Friday March 20th, 9am-4pm

Camp is open to ages 7-12 (recommended for students in grades 2-6).

Option 1- Full Week: $250 + tax

Option 2- Pick your date(s): $55+ tax/day per child. Pick and choose the dates you would like to register your child for. Must pre-register for dates (no drop ins).

Meet Ms. Nadia (Capitol Arts Camp Leader)

A long time performer and musician, Nadia is passionate about art, music education and musical theatre! After graduating from the University of Windsor with a degree in Theatre, she joined the Capitol team full time as the Capitol and Community Coordinator. Nadia has several years of experience working with students of all ages, ranging from private vocal instruction to directing youth musical productions.

End of Day Presentation

From 3:30pm-4:00pm each day, families are invited to see what their children have been working on. Parents, guardians, and siblings are welcome and encouraged to attend. Parents and guardians who are not available to attend the final presentation at the end of the day are required to pick up their child by 4:00pm (late pickup available until 4:30pm for an additional fee).

What does a typical day look like?
Drop off at 9am at the Capitol Theatre. Throughout the day, campers will participate in a variety of activities tailored to the theme of the day.
 
🎭Monday- Acting: Write a scene to perform or direct 
🎨Tuesday- Visual Arts: Paint, draw and sculpt your own creation
🎥Wednesday- Film: Write a script, star in a scene, & explore editing
💃Thursday- Dance: Learn choreography, create your own dance & perform
🎤Friday- Musical Theatre: Sing, dance and act onstage

There will be three breaks a day; 15 minute snack breaks in the morning and afternoon, and a 30 minute lunch break mid-day. Pick up is at 4pm. If needed, early drop off (between 8:30am-9:00am) and late pick up (between 4:00pm-4:30pm) can be arranged for a $10/day fee.

Lunch and allergies

Yes, campers should bring lunch and snacks. Peanut free is encouraged, however as we are not a nut free facility, we cannot guarantee that there will not be any exposure to allergens. If your child has a severe allergy, please let us know ahead of time.

What should we bring?

Campers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and shoes that they can move in. Water bottles are also encouraged. Some activities such as painting/sculpting may get messy. Please dress your child in craft-friendly clothing!

Cancellations and refunds?

The Capitol Theatre retains the right to cancel the camp if the minimum registration requirement is not met by March 1st. In the event that the camp is cancelled, full refunds will be issued to all registrants. If a registrant wishes to cancel, the request must be provided in writing to [email protected] by March 1st. Cancellations will be evaluated on a case by case basis. No refunds will be provided for cancellations past March 1st. In the event that a child is not permitted to continue at camp due to behaviour that doesn’t align with the camp policies, no refund will be provided.
